Garrison Church Potsdam

The tower of the Garrison Church in Potsdam has been rebuilt since 2017 - externally resembling the baroque original, internally with a modern spatial and utilisation concept. The history of the church dates back to 1730. It burnt down in 1945 and was blown up in 1968. In 2024, the rebuilt tower will be opened as a place of culture, remembrance and learning. It is an architecturally impressive place that presents the German past and present in a compact form. In addition to the exhibition on "Faith, Power and the Military", a viewing platform with barrier-free access at a height of 57 metres will be one of the highlights of the visit to the tower. In order to promote social dialogue and make a contribution to peace and democracy, the Garrison Church Foundation will be organising educational programmes, concerts, discussions and church services in the tower. The Chapel of the Cross of Nails on the ground floor is already open and can be visited during church services. Information about the dates can be found on the website.
