The former premises of the historical furnace factory A. Schmidt, Lehmann are now home to two museums. The exhibition of the Furnace and Ceramics Museum Velten presents furnaces from the 16th to the 20th century and illustrates the history of ceramics. Ceramics from Velten were sold into the entire world. The premises also house the Hedwig-Bollhagen Museum. In addition to special exhibitions, the museum presents works from the estate of the designer, who died in 2001, as well as pieces from the personal collection. Guided tours and ceramics markets are perfect to get to know the exhibits in more detail in charming facilities and special programs for children are on offer as well.
